Sutton Night Watch recently received an email from local MP Elliot Colburn, explaining that even during the coronavirus Lockdown, he had been fundraising within the local community for us. This included a local Conservative group auction night, held just prior to the lockdown, which had raised some funds.
Being active on social media, Sutton Night Watch had seen that the Carshalton and Wallington MP had been lending his support to a multitude of extremely worthy local causes; so, to hear that he had been raising some much-needed funds for them also, was absolutely fantastic.
Still following social distancing and PPE recommendations, the directors at SNW invited Mr Colburn along to their premises at 35 Manor Road, Wallington. The invite was for one afternoon after the premises had closed to the public, with the support team there to show the local MP around the building.
Mr Colburn was very happy to see the number of great things achieved from local business donations and support from the community. He was also very pleased Sutton Night Watch had chosen their new premises within his area of the borough of Sutton, commenting on the great location, fluid transport links and the supportive surrounding services such as the job centre and GP.
At the end of the visit, the Sutton Night Watch team were delighted to be presented with a cheque for £400, which will most definitely help as they continue to support some of the most vulnerable in the local community.
Sutton Night Watch would like to publicly thank everyone who contributed to this amazing donation.
