The Human Library

Real People, Real Stories at Sutton Central Library

Held at Sutton Central Library in partnership with the Human Library, this free event offers a unique opportunity to challenge prejudice through open conversation. Instead of borrowing traditional books, visitors will have the chance to ‘borrow’ real people who share their lived experiences of bias, discrimination, or marginalisation.

Each Human Library ‘Book’ represents a different background or life story, and conversations are guided by curiosity and respect. Visitors can speak directly with these individuals to better understand experiences different from their own in a safe, supportive setting. No booking is required.
